N. Berkay Kirci graduated from the Faculty of Law, Ankara, in 2001. He was admitted to the Ankara Bar in 2002 and has been actively practising as an attorney at law (patent lawyer, trademark lawyer) in all intellectual property-related disputes since then. He has also acted as an in-house lawyer.
Before establishing the KIRCI Law Office (KIRCI Avukatlık Bürosu), he was a partner of an intellectual property law firm with a known academician in his field for over eight years.
Mr. Kirci also acts as a registered and chartered trademark attorney and a patent attorney before the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT).
He has a Master of Science degree from the Department of Science and Technology Policy Studies at the Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Türkiye.
He holds a certificate of qualification in intellectual property, as well as a certificate of training in Domain Name Dispute Resolution obtained from the World Intellectual Property Organisation(WIPO). Mr.Kirci also participated in the WIPO Mediation and Arbitration Workshop in June 2022.
He holds a Legal English for Jurists certificate obtained from Ankara University, Faculty of Law, and the Research Institute of Banking and Commercial Law.
His articles and papers have been published in some of the most prestigious journals in Türkiye and around the world. His book, Unfair Usage of Trademarks via the Internet, has been published in Turkish and English. In conjunction with these studies, Mr. Kirci has been awarded the ‘Thought Leader Award’ for being one of the most-read authors among contributors from Türkiye in the field of intellectual property in Autumn 2022 by Mondaq, one of the most comprehensive independent online resources.
N. Berkay Kirci has been appointed by competent intellectual property courts as an expert witness in many intellectual property-related cases and concluded reports in the last 10 years.
He also gives lectures and conferences about intellectual property issues.
He is fluent in English and is eligible to respond to Clients verbally and in writing.
He is also the founder and partner of KIRCI Patent.
